Sri Lanka entirely defenseless against environmental change: Erik Solheim

The worldwide guide of environmental change to Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe said Thursday that Sri Lanka is truly powerless against environmental change as the dry regions in its north are getting drier and the wet regions in its south getting wetter.

During a visit to the South Asian country, previous Norwegian clergyman Erik Solheim said the dangers from avalanches and outrageous weather conditions will increment and measures should be taken to conquer these difficulties.

He let nearby media know that handling environmental change anyway carries a colossal chance to make green positions.

"Environmentally friendly power, electric portability, tree-planting, green agribusiness and eco-the travel industry all deal gigantic open doors for occupations and thriving while at the same time taking great consideration of Mother Earth simultaneously," Solheim said.

Sri Lanka is positioned as the subsequent most horrendously awful hit country as far as environmental change as indicated by the Worldwide Environment Hazard Record 2019.
