Diesel distribution will be restricted.

Due to limited diesel stocks, diesel will be distributed only to selected petrol stations on a priority list, according to the Petroleum Distributors' Association.

Mr. Kapila Naotunna, co-secretary of the association, stated that the daily distribution of diesel has been reduced to approximately 2,500 metric tonnes.

According to reports, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) currently has a diesel reserve of approximately 40,000 metric tonnes.

It is also reported that, while another consignment of diesel has been ordered, suppliers have yet to confirm its supply.

As a result, the arrival of the diesel ship, which was scheduled to arrive on the island on the 9th or 10th of June, is in doubt.

However, the next shipment of diesel under the Indian credit line is expected to arrive in Sri Lanka on June 16th.

As a result, the CPC's diesel stocks will be issued in limited quantities over the next 11 days and must be managed until another consignment of diesel arrives in Sri Lanka.

However, gasoline supplies will be distributed as usual.

Meanwhile, Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera stated that the progress of the evaluation of 90 proposals received for the supply of petroleum products was discussed yesterday with teams from the CPC's commerce department.

According to the Minister, the financial and technical guidelines for reaching relevant agreements will be presented next week.
