The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has approved a 12-hour power outage today (April 1), as requested by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
The CEB had requested a 12-hour power outage due to a lack of fuel for thermal power plants, according to the PUCSL.
As a result, the following power outages will be implemented:
ABCDEF - 2 hours from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m., 4 hours from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and 6 hours from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
GHIJKL - 2 hours from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., 4 hours from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 6 hours from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.
PQRS - 2 hours from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m., 4 hours from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and 6 hours from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
TUVW - 2 hours from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., 4 hours from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 6 hours from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.
MNOXYZ - 3 hours and 30 minutes from 5.30 a.m. to 9 a.m., and 2 hours from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
However, it stated that no power outages would occur between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. today, except in a few areas (01).
