The Sri Lankan Rupee continues to fall in value.

According to the latest Central Bank of Sri Lanka exchange rates, the Sri Lankan Rupee has depreciated further against the US Dollar (CBSL).

The central bank announced today that the buying rate for the US dollar is Rs. 289.72, while the selling rate is Rs. 299.99 per dollar.

According to central bank data, the rupee depreciated by 33.0 percent against the US dollar in the year ending 01 April 2022.

The Central Bank's increased flexibility in the exchange rate has resulted in a significant upward adjustment in the exchange rate since March 2022, according to the report.

The Sri Lankan rupee was broadly stable in the first two months of 2022, but it depreciated significantly after that, as a result of the Central Bank's decision to allow greater flexibility in determining the exchange rate in the first week of March 2022.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka rupee depreciated against the euro, the pound sterling, the Japanese yen, the Australian dollar, and the Indian rupee during the year ending 01 April 2022, reflecting cross-currency movements.
