Heavy traffic at Maradana due to university students' protest

Due to a protest march by university students, severe traffic congestion has been reported around the Technical College Junction area in Maradana.

The Inter-University Students' Federation (IUSF) protest march against the President and the government began near the Fort Railway Station and is heading towards the Presidential Secretariat building.

However, several other roads leading to the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo, including the Lotus Road, are said to have been completely closed off and barricaded by police since this morning (24).

Meanwhile, Fort Police Station handed over a court order about the protest march to IUSF members.
