Sri Lanka sells more gold stores

Sri Lanka has sold one more tranche of its gold stores in January 2022 amid a general fall of its gross stores, official information shows.


The national banks' gold stores were down to 92 million US dollars in January 2022 from 175 million US dollars in December.


Sri Lanka likewise sold gold in December 2021. By the end of December 2021 Sri Lanka was assessed to have had around 3.1 huge loads of gold. The most recent deal is assessed to have brought gold property down to around 1.6 tons.


National Bank Governor Nivard Cabraal said at the time that the deals would build fluid resources as generally speaking stores dropped.
