The Ministry of Highways says that the second period of the Central Expressway, otherwise called the 'Ethugalpura Entrance', which was pronounced open to the general population on Saturday, has created a pay of over Rs. 2.8 million inside the initial 12 hours of activities.
Drivers had been permitted to utilize the recently opened stretch of the Central Expressway complementary until Sunday evening while the tollgates had been functional from 12 early afternoons onwards.
In like manner, the pay produced by the new part of the interstate between 12 early afternoons to 12 PM on Sunday (16) has been assessed as roughly Rs. 2,805,100.
The service said that 13,583 vehicles had utilized the interstate from Kurunegala to Mirigama inside that 12-hour duration while no vehicular mishaps were accounted for during that time.
