COVID-19: Is the country entering a dark period?

With the number of cases and deaths increasing marginally day by day despite vaccination, health officials warn of a dark period ahead if the situation is not addressed.

COVID-19 Dr. Anwar Hamdani, Coordinator, Director of Technical Services at the Ministry of Health, stated that there has been a slight increase in the hospitalization of COVID patients.

"At the moment, 30 percent of the total treatment centers of 176 are occupied," he said.

"In fact, this should set off alarm bells. "It is critical that we control the situation before it worsens; otherwise, the country will inevitably be dragged back to the dark era that we experienced a few months ago," Dr Hamdani emphasized.

As a result, he urged people to strictly adhere to health guidelines and practices if the country is to achieve control.

The number of infections, which was once around 600, is now between 700 and 800. Furthermore, the number of fatalities is currently around 20.
