Cement makers have announced a new price.

Cement businesses in Sri Lanka decided yesterday to raise the retail price of a 50kg bag of cement by Rs. 177.

As a result, the stipulated price of a cement bag has been increased to Rs. 1,275.

The price increase followed the government's removal of the cement price limit last month.

The sellers of the Sanstha and Mahaweli Marine brands of cement, Siam City Cement Lanka Ltd., acknowledged yesterday that the maximum retail price of a 50kg bag sold by the copnay is just Rs. 1275.

Meanwhile, the maker of TOKYO SUPER and NIPPON CEMENT, Tokyo Cement (Company) Lanka PLC, announced today that a 50Kg bag of these brands of cement will be sold at the Maximum Retail Price of Rs. 1,275 only.
