The Department of Meteorology has issued a strong lightning warning for various provinces and districts.

Thunderstorms with intense lightning are expected in the Central, North-Western, Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, as well as the districts of Anuradhapura, Galle, and Matara, according to the statement.

During thundershowers, there may be localized high winds. The general public is politely asked to take appropriate precautions to limit the damage caused by lightning activity.
