Will primary schools return on October 15th?

The Education Ministry hopes to reopen schools with less than 200 students in Grades 5 and below on October 15, according to Education Ministry Secretary Prof. Kapila Perera.

He told that the Health Ministry has already submitted health guidelines for reopening schools to the Ministry.

"Before starting academic activities, cleaning initiatives should be introduced to clean up the school atmosphere," he stated.

He stated that the Ministry has already created a technique for reopening schools after the cleaning activities are completed. Prof. Perera estimates that cleaning all schools will take at least two weeks.

On Tuesday, the Health Ministry delivered to the Education Ministry Secretary the necessary recommendations for resuming the above grades (21).

The Health Ministry, on the other hand, opted to reopen schools at different stages.
