Bean stew imports will be halted by 2024

Steps will be taken to stop the import of chillies into the country by 2024, Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said. 

He said this while tending to the media at the Galaboda Estate in Nawalapitiya subsequent to noticing the effective development of chillies utilizing 100 sections of land of natural manure and new innovation. 

"All chillies needed for the nation are being imported and the seeds needed for bean stew development are being delivered in the Central Province. The service plans to effectively develop 3,000 sections of land of chillies in different pieces of the country later on, the minister said.
