Bangladesh reopens schools after an 18-month closure. COVID has been shut down.

Schools resumed after 543 days of closure as the virus situation in the country improves and more people are vaccinated.


Bangladesh, Dhaka – Adnan Hasan is donning his school uniform - a spotless white shirt and blue slacks – and stands in line for the first time in 18 months. 

On Sunday, a fifth-grader wearing a mask stood in front of the arched gate of Dhaka's Udayan School, as hundreds of thousands of children in Bangladesh returned to school after 543 days – one of the world's longest coronavirus shutdowns.
